Careplus DEET is an insect repellent suitable for both tropical destinations (risk of malaria, dengue, yellow fever) and for European countries. The active constituent DEET is effective against stinging insects as well as ticks. DEET is most effective against (malaria) mosquitos and gadflies, ticks and bloodsuckers; and is reasonably effective against large horseflies, nits and midges
Careplus DEET is available as 50% Deet Lotion and Spray, 40% Deet Spray and 30% Deet Gel. The consumer can choose which form he or she finds most suitable.
One container provides enough lotion, gel or spray for 2 to 3 weeks of daily use (if used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions). The extra large 100ml 40% DEET spray contains enough DEET to last for 3 1/2 to 5 weeks.
Careplus advises a DEET percentage of between 30% and 50%. An insect repellent of less than 30% strength will prove to be not effective enough, and anything over 50% has no added value.
It is important that Careplus Deet is used on all unprotected parts of the skin for effective protection.
